Dominicking blinds
Dominic Cullen, our official five-handed short stack, pushed for 1.36 million. Nobody wanted to take him on, and he stays in the game, a few blinds and antes rivher.
Martin Gudvangen raised to 230,000, only for Aaron Gustavson to make it 590,000 out of the small blind. Back to Gudvangen, and he now made it 915,000, staring quite intensely at his opponent.
Eventually Gustavson folded, and Gudvangen took the pot.
Rui Milhomens - 6th
Rui Milhomen raised to 230,000 and it gets passed to Peter Eastgate in the big blind. Eastgate thinks for so long that everyone assumes he's going to fold. But no! He moves all-in and Rui Milhomen looks gutted, is he going to fold? No he eventually shrugs and calls all-in.
Eastgate:
Milhomen:
The board and Eastgate hits the river to knock out the Portuguese player and almost breaks out into a smile as a result.
Feeling Wu-zy
Raymond Wu shoved for his last 650,000 from the button, and Aaron Gustavson re-shoved from the small blind.
Actually, it wasn't as bad as it looked for Wu.
Wu:
Gustavson:
Still, board:
Wu is bust in 7th place, and Gustavson picks up yet more chips. Still, Wu has the £87,000 7th-place money to console him, as well as the incredibly beautiful girl at the rail who we understand is his girlfriend. Not so bad, then.
Aaron Gustavson raised to 200,000 from the button, but Peter Eastgate, now apparently a bit more awake and looking very stern, re-popped him for 630,000 total from the big blind. Gustavson decided he didn't want to get any more involved than that, and passed.
Ice
Preflop raises that have got through uncontested:
1) Peter Eastgate, 250,000
2) Aaron Gustavson, 200,000
3) Peter Eastgate again, 250,000 again
We have to say, after the blink-and-you'll-miss-them super-fast EPT final tables we've become accustomed to this season, the pace of this particular final seems almost glacial.
Rui Milhomens raises to 230,000 from the small blind and Martin Gudvangen calls.
The flop is and both players check. The turn is the and Milhomens checks a second time, which to a Norwegian is like a red rag to a bull. Gudvangen bets 305,000 but Milhomens quickly calls.
The river is the and Milhomens checks once more, Gudvangen bets 620,000 this time. Milhomens makes the call but the Norwegian shows and it's good. Milhomens, whose surname means 'A Thousand Men' in English is crippled as a result.
As awake as he's been all day
Peter Eastgate and Rui Milhomens saw a flop and Eastgate bet out 140,000. Milhomens made it 350,000, though, and a grouchy-looking Eastgate folded.
