It's 2:20 a.m. in Las Vegas. It has been a long day at the World Series of Poker. Heads are stretching back and forth checking out each other's stacks. It's final table bubble time. Short stacks are the prey. Everyone wants to make it to the big show and the final table.
Marco Traniello has been the short stack for an hour and he's still hanging on.
There are two tables left, one with 5 players and the other with 4. Every twenty minutes, the tournament director sends one player to the four-handed table to keep the action fair.
Shortstack Marco Traniello is hanging tough. He had only 24K left when he went to battle with Mike Wattel. Traniello had two 10s showing and Wattel couldn't beat that so he mucked. He's up to 84K.
David Oppenheim scooped another big pot. His two pair -- Aces and Jacks -- were better than Mike Wattel's two pair. Wattel slipped to 146K while Oppenheim's stack is now at 440K.
