Cash Game Pro Cashes WSOP Main Event for Eighth Time and Reaches Day 8

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Jamie Shaevel
Jamie Shaevel

Jamie Shaevel has made a habit of cashing in the WSOP Main Event for years, but this time around he has a legitimate shot to win life-changing money, and maybe a bracelet.

The Southern California native isn't even a tournament player. He barely plays any tournaments outside the Main Event, yet he's cashed in this tournament eight times since 2011, this being his first time reaching Day 8.

Shaevel's Hendon Mob page shows just 35 total live tournament cashes dating back to 2009, averaging about two per year. Nearly a quarter of those cashes have come in one tournament. He's only cashed six times in any tournaments since 2017, four of those in the WSOP Main Event, and he has an explanation.

Karakaya Wins Three-Way Pot on the Turn

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Thomas Clack limped in from the small blind, and Malcolm Trayner applied pressure with a raise to 2,200,000 out of the big blind, forcing out Clack.

Trayner raised to 1,200,000 thereafter and folded when Brock Wilson pushed all in for 12,500,000.

Clack opened to 1,200,000 in the following hand and earned calls from Han Feng as well as Tolga Karakaya out of the blinds. The trio checked the 543 flop to the 8 turn, on which Feng checked again. Karakaya bet 1,700,000 and took down the pot.

Rami Hammoud KJ raised to 1,200,000 in the cutoff before Shaun Deeb 1010 three-bet to 4,800,000 in the big blind. Hammoud called, and the flop came AKQ. Deeb then bet 2,400,000, and Hammoud called.

Deeb bet another 6,800,000 on the 6 turn, and Hammoud again called.

The river was the 10 and Deeb slowed down and checked his set. Hammoud then moved all in with his straight.

Deeb stood up from his seat and went deep into the tank as he considered the decision for his last 16,600,000. He burned through multiple time banks over several minutes, but he eventually gave up his hand and surrendered the pot to Hammoud.

Just Two Flops In Sight

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

The next min-raised pot saw a flop of AK7 on which Trayner bet 3,500,000 into Clack and took it down.
