Jamie Dwan is a British poker player best known for winning the $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em event at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), earning his first bracelet and $2,276,691. Dwan has a background in politics, but today considers himself a professional poker player.
Although Dwan is an accomplished online and live poker player, he had never played in a $50,000 buy-in event before the 2026 WSOP. He decided to take a shot at the big time, and it proved to be an incredible decision on his part because it resulted in a life-changing score and the all-important bracelet.
"This is my first-ever $50K. It is the most I've ever had invested in a tournament. It was a huge shot take, and I've just won it. None of this feels real; it feels insane. This was just like a big punt at the end of the series. I was having a winning summer. I was like, I'll punt it. I'll have a go at it, you know. It feels like a dream; it doesn't feel real."
"It means so much to me," Dwan said of his bracelet, "My mum's not very well, and all I wanted to do this summer was come back to her with a bracelet. I've done it, and I've done it in one of the biggest tournaments of the year. It means so much, so much."
In the run-up to the 2026 WSOP, Dwan won a WSOP Circuit ring in France by triumphing in the €3,500 WSOPC Aix-en-Provence Super High Roller for €50,000.
