Biography

Sergio Benso is an Italian poker player who won the $1,500 Pick Your PLO event at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), taking home $196,431 and his first WSOP bracelet.

Benso has Hendon Mob cashes dating back to 2007, including a $75,518 prize for finishing fourth in the $600 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack event at the 2024 WSOP. That remained his best score for only eight months because Benso collected $97,000 for a runner-up finish in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament in February 2025.

At the 2026 WSOP, Benso defeated Jesse Lonis heads-up to capture the $1,500 Pick Your PLO title, bracelet, and $196,431.
