Palermo Falls to Hundt

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a flop of K95 in a single raised pot, James Hundt bet 50,000 from the button. After some deliberation, Michael Palermo check-jammed for his remaining 155,000 from the hijack, and Hundt snap-called.

Michael Palermo: KQ1010 All in
James Hundt: 10876

Palermo was ahead for now with top pair and double backdoor flush draw against the wrap of Hundt. However, his lead was short-lived as the 8 came on the turn to complete Hundt's straight. Palermo still had a gutter to a higher straight, but it did not come on the A river, and he was eliminated.

Hernandez Runs Into Mueller's Aces

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

James Carroll limped in from middle position before Michael Hernandez raised to 20,000 in the cutoff. Marc Geissel called on the button, while Brandon Mueller then three-bet to 92,000 in the big blind. Carroll folded, and Hernandez then moved all in for 308,000. Geissel folded, and Mueller snap-called.

Michael Hernandez: AKK7 All in
Brandon Mueller: AA87

Mueller had Hernandez crushed with his aces, and the board ran out 92295 to earn him the knockout.

Faiz the First Casualty

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On the first hand of the day, Abdullah Faiz got in his last 13,000 from under the gun on a flop of 25Q, and Brian Cole put him at risk in the big blind.

Abdullah Faiz: AKQ10 All in
Brian Cole: 9643

Faiz was ahead with top pair, but the 4 turn gave Cole a straight. The river was the 7, and Faiz was sent to the rail.

"I'm out!" he shouted out with a laugh as Faiz headed off to the payout desk, while this table quickly broke.
