Martini Slows Down Grupp With River Shove

Kyle Grupp raised to 2,200 on the button and was called by Julien Martini and Matthew Lubawski in the blinds.

All three players checked the 9♠10♦8♣ flop. Martini then led out for 4,000 on the 5♠ turn, and both Lubawski and Grupp called.

Action checked to Grupp on the Q♦ river, and he bet 11,000. Martini then moved all in for 51,800 and Lubawski folded, while Grupp tanked for a minute before also giving up his hand.

Despite dropping that pot, Grupp, who finished 54th in last year's Main Event, is still sitting on more than 300,000.
