Bluff of the Tournament from Lacoste
Action picked up on the river in a hand between Mark Lacoste in the small blind and Samy Dubonnet from early position, but the action was recounted to PokerNews by the table.
Dubonnet had opened second-to-act and Lacoste flatted in the small blind.
On the Q♠10♠3♣ flop, Lacoste led out with a bet and Dubonnet called.
Lacoste led again on the 5♠ turn and Dubonnet called once more.
There was 455,000 in the middle as the two saw the 2♦ river. This time, Lacoste checked it over to Dubonnet who bet 375,000. Lacoste responded with a check-jam for 1,175,000 effective as the covering stack, sending Dubonnet deep into the tank.
Several minutes would pass before Dubonnet conceded the pot. As the pot was pushed towards Lacoste, he kept a straight face as he tossed Q♣J♠ into the middle, turning his pair of queens with a spade blocker into a bluff.
The table fell silent as they witnessed one of the largest pots of the tournament as Lacoste's fearlessness was rewarded.
