Mukul Pahuja was already all in for his short stack from the cutoff against Robin Kleinbeck on the button, Adam Sykes in the big blind, and Jinghan Yan in early position heading to a flop, which came 5♠K♥10♣.
Action checked to Kleinbeck and he bet 35,000. Sykes folded, but Yan called.
The Q♥ fell on the turn and Yan checked again, prompting a 110,000 bet from Kleinbeck. Yan let his hand go to set up a showdown between Kleinbeck and Pahuja.
Mukul Pahuja: J♦8♦
Robin Kleinbeck: A♠3♠
Kleinbeck only held ace-high, but it was well ahead of Pahuja's jack-high.
The 2♠ river kept Kleinbeck best and Pahuja was elimnated.
James Morgan raised to 30,000 in the hijack and Asi Moshe three-bet to 85,000 in the cutoff. Nathan Wilt then four-bet to 200,000 in the small blind as action went on Tianle Wang in the big blind.
Wang tanked for several minutes before five-betting to 525,000. Morgan and Moshe quickly got out of the way, but Wilt announced all in. Wang snap-called for 985,000.
Tianle Wang: K♦K♠
Nathan Wilt: Q♦Q♣
"I had jacks," Moshe admitted, while Wang had Wilt crushed with his two kings. The board ran out 10♣2♣2♦6♠K♠, and Wang improved to a full house to win the massive pot and double up.
Looking down at A♠10♣, Delmiro Toledo raised to 35,000 in early position and picked up calls from Mohammad Bagheri, holding 6♥6♣ in the hijack, Malcolm Trayner in the cutoff, who had K♣J♣, and Charles Tabet on the button with his Q♥10♥.
Toledo continued for 25,000 on a Q♠8♦A♦ flop, which only Trayner called.
The J♥ turn didn't slow Toledo down, as he barreled for 75,000. Trayner stopped him in his tracks, though, as he raised to 210,000.
"King-ten of diamonds? Is that what you've got?" Toledo asked rhetorically before mucking his cards, surrendering the pot to Trayner, who didn't show his bluff.
Masataka Setoguchi was among those to bust the Main Event but just make the pay jump and cash for $27,500. The next payout will be $30,000 when just 540-602 players remain.
Caitlin Comeskey raised to 30,000 in early position. Gonzalo Almada then three-bet to 90,000 in middle position before Samiyel Duzgun moved all in for 320,000 in the small blind. Comeskey folded, but Almada quickly called.
Samiyel Duzgun: A♦K♥
Gonzalo Almada: K♠K♣
The 9♦4♥J♣Q♠ turn brought some extra outs, but the river came the innocuous 4♦ to secure Duzgun's demise.
Stanislav Halatenko jammed for 85,000 from under the gun and he was called by Iris Liu in the hijack.
Stanislav Halatenko: 9♥9♣
Iris Liu: 8♥8♣
Halatenko managed to hit quads on a board of 6♣3♣9♦9♠10♣ and he doubled up.
Chino Rheem raised to 30,000 from early position and was immediately three-bet to 80,000 by Bahar Musa from the next seat. Rheem elected to make the call.
Both players checked all the way to the river on the 9♦6♥J♣5♣2♠ runout before Rheem bet 115,000. Musa let his hand go, giving up the pot to Rheem.
Nghia Le open-jammed for 320,000 and was called only by Aliaksei Boika two seats over while all other players behind folded.
Nghia Le: A♣Q♦
Aliaksei Boika: 10♦10♠
"That's the flip you wanted," Jose Fernando Garcia Gutierrez said and Le spiked the ace on the 8♥5♦4♠A♠9♥ board to stay in contention with a vivid "Where is it? There it is!"
Le then explained that the open shove was his way to combat being out-played and having to fold.
"I totally agree with you on all of that," Carlos Chadha Villamarin replied.
In a four-bet pot with 325,000 each in the middle to the Q♦10♣2♣ flop, Antonin Hays bet 130,000 from under the gun. Stanislav Halatenko then pushed all-in from the small blind and Hays called with a near identical stack size to create a massive pot.
Antonin Hays: A♥A♦
Stanislav Halatenko: A♣4♣
The nut flush draw of Halatenko missed on the 2♦ turn and K♦ river for Hays to double for 1,040,000.
Halatenko was down to 30,000 after the hand and jammed the button with A♠5♥, Hays called from the big blind without looking and exposed the 5♣4♠. The 7♠6♣6♦2♣Q♦ runout kept Halatenko in the mix for now.
