Hawkins Doubles Through Jiang

Punnat Punsri opened to 650,000 from under the gun and saw four callers. Yanting Jiang called from middle position, Roberto Romanello on the button, Maurice Hawkins in the small blind and Luis Yepez defended his big blind.

The 3♦7♣5♦ flop saw action check to Jiang who moved out a stack of 10,000,000. Roberto folded, but Hawkins snap called, putting his 7,875,000 at risk. After the other players mucked their cards the hands were flipped and the runout continued.

Yanting Jiang: A♦9♦

Jiang was hunting for the flush draw, but Hawkins had already flopped the set. The 9♥ turn paired Jiang but didn't change his outs, and the 8♥ river locked up Hawkins double.

Yanting Jiang began the bidding with an open to 600,000 from hijack. Michael Rocco joined with a call from the small blind.

The flop fanned out J♥3♦2♦ before both players checked.

Neither player did any betting on the Q♣ turn either, as they both knuckled to usher in the 9♦ river.

Rocco led out with a wager of 300,000. Jiang wanted to put more chips in the pot and chose to raise to 1,500,000.

Rocco went into the tank before Jiang called the clock after he was in deliberation. The floor came over and began the countdown, and just before the timer was going to expire, Rocco made the call.

Jiang showed the river was her friend when she tabled 9♥9♠ for a set of nines.

Rocco mucked his hand to award Jiang the pot.

Jung had Aguilera gasping for air as he held the superior ace with five cards to go.

The 2♠8♠10♦ flop was of no help to Aguilera.

Aguilera would perk up on the 5♦ turn as he gained a flush draw and a straight draw, but it did not come to pass on the 5♠ river as Aguilera would bow out from contention in 11th place.

Aguilera earned $91,740 for his finish.

Luis Yepez opened to 600,000 from under the gun before Barry Shulman chose to three-bet all-in for 4,700,000 on the button. Yepez made the call as Shulman was at risk for it all.

Shulman was in rough shape as Yepez held the goods with pocket queens as they went to a runout.

The flop gave Shulman some additional outs when it came 7♣4♣6♣ as he could hit a straight to win the pot.

The 5♣ was an interesting turn as it put a straight flush draw on the board and paired Shulman's five, but there was no drama on the 2♥ river as Yepez took down the pot and sent Shulman to the exit.

Shulman earend $72,835 for his finish.

Yanting Jiang made the call out of the big blind and sent them to a flop of 3♥Q♥10♠. Jiang bet 100,000 to put Ionescu all-in before he put in the call to go to a showdown for his tournament life.

Jiang held a commanding lead, but the 5♥ turn brought additional outs for Ionescu with one card to go as he gained a flush draw.

Jose Aguilera opened to 400,000 from middle position and Chahn Jung called from the small blind. Jose Aguilera also defended his big blind and the players went three-ways to the 9♠2♣A♣ flop.

Action checked to Aguilera who bet 425,000 and only Jung called to see the J♠ turn. Jung check-called a 900,000 bet by Aguilera to see the 4♠ completed the board.

Jung checked, Aguilera moved all in for his remaining 1,675,000 and Jung went into the tank. He eventually mucked his hand, passing a sizeable pot to Aguilera.
