Parssinen Picks Off Peters' Blocker Bluff

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Eelis Parssinen
Eelis Parssinen

A pot of roughly 670,000 had amassed between David Peters from under the gun and Eelis Parssinen on the button.

The two players were looking at a completed board of J10KA3, where Peters checked. Parssinen slid out a bet of 185,000, sending Peters deep into the tank.

Peters remained almost motionless for around two minutes before the clock was called. Even with the countdown ticking away, he barely moved until, with fewer than ten seconds remaining, he quietly announced, "All in."

The shove was for Parssinen's remaining 1,015,000. Visibly discomfited by the spot, Parssinen took just a few moments before slamming in the call.

Peters tabled AJ for two pair with the nut flush blocker, but Parssinen revealed K8 for the second-nut flush to double up at Peters' expense.

This year's nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame have been announced, with the eight individuals now heading to the living members of the Hall for voting.

Each member can vote for up to four nominees, and anyone receiving votes from 22 or more members earns an automatic induction. This change, from a previous "winner-takes-all" format allowing for only one induction per year, was announced earlier this month.

Five of the eight nominees are first-time nominees, having met the minimum age requirement of 40. Eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Shaun Deeb headlines these players; he is joined by Jason Koon, Isaac Haxton, Chris Moorman, and Justin Bonomo.

Liberto And Peters Involved in a Big Pot

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Justin Liberto raised to 50,000 from under the gun, and David Peters three-bet to 140,000 from middle position. Action folded back to Liberto and he decided to four-bet to 305,000 and Peters called.

Liberto showed no signs of slowing down on a flop of KQQ, and he fired out a bet of 80,000, and Peters called. The K on the turn saw Liberto fire out again but for 165,000, and Peters called.

Liberto did slow down on the J river with a check, and Peters went all in for 900,000 effective and Liberto snap-folded.
