Pei Li raised from the hijack to 600,000, and Gerald Esposito called from the big blind. The flop was 3♦3♥6♦, and Esposito checked, while Li bet 325,000. Esposito called.
Both players checked through the turn 7♠ and the river 2♥.
Esposito showed J♥6♥ for two pair and the win, as Li mucked.
Timofei Sharipov in early position found himself at risk against Qiang Chau in the hijack.
Timofei Sharipov: A♣K♠
Qiang Chau: 2♥2♠
Sharipov flopped top pair on 6♥K♦5♥ to take the lead, but Chaud hit a set with the 2♦4♠ runout to eliminate Sharipov.
There are just five players standing between Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel and his 11th World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet.
The poker legend reached the final table of Event #96: $3,000 6-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha, one of the last events of the series as action in Las Vegas winds down significantly.
Martin Kabrhel opened to 600,000 from the hijack. Blair Hinkle in the small blind three-bet all-in for 2,050,000, then Colin Lovelock in the big blind jammed for 3,700,000 to make Kabrhel fold.
Blair Hinkle: 2♠2♥
Colin Lovelock: A♦J♥
Hinkle's deuces held on 7♦6♦10♠8♥Q♣ and he doubled up.
Action folded to Ritwik Khanna in the cutoff who raised to 1,550,000 leaving himself 25,000 behind and it then folded to Pei Li in the small blind who three-bet all in and had Khanna covered. The big blind folded and Khanna made the call.
Ritwik Khanna: A♥J♥
Pei Li: A♦10♥
Khanna had Li crushed and was looking good for a double-up on the 9♣5♣2♥ flop. The A♣ turn didn't really change affairs but when the 10♣ peeled off on the river, Li hit two pair to send Khanna to the rail.
Antonio Thompson opened to 1,075,000 from middle position. Justin Fawcett in the small blind three-bet to 2,000,000. Visibly unhappy about this raise, Thompson stood up but moved all-in for a total of 2,275,000. Fawcett snap-called.
Antonio Thompson: J♥J♠
Justin Fawcett: A♥Q♠
After a flop of 9♠10♣3♠, Fawcett hit the A♦ turn to take the lead. The 4♣ river didn't help Thompson and he was sent to the rail.
Hamid Izadi opened to 600,000 from the hijack and faced Glen Cressman who defended from the big blind.
Both players checked a flop of 9♥J♦5♦ leading to the 3♠ turn which was checked by Cressman. Izadi bet 400,000 and Cressman called.
The 5♠ river didn't bring more action, so Cressman said, "two pair," while flipping over 2♠2♦. Izadi only had A♥Q♣.
