Bronstein Runs Into It

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Aleksandr Shevlyakov made it 20,000 in middle position. Noah Bronstein three-bet to 55,000 in the hijack before Mohammad Bagheri four-bet all in for 223,000 in the cutoff.

Shevlyakov quickly folded, but Bronstein reluctantly called after some thought.

Mohammad Bagheri: AA All in
Noah Bronstein: AQ

Bronstein flopped a glimmer of hope on QK8, but the 9 turn and 4 river remained devoid of queens.

"Unfortunate timing for that situation," Shaun Deeb, who had chipped up to be among the leaders in his section, commented as the pot was pushed to Bagheri.

"I know," Bronstein replied.

Cheong Chips up With Trips

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Joseph Cheong opened to 22,000 first to act and was called by Martin Zamani on the button and Daniel Lipszyc in the big blind for a three-way pot.

Lipszyc checked to Cheong, who continued for 20,000 on the AA5 flop. Zamani called and Lipszyc folded.

The Q fell on the turn and Cheong check-called a 40,000 bet from Zamani.

Both players then checked on the 8 river and Zamani said, "I'm going to be really sad if you have queen-jack."

One card was correct, as Cheong revealed AJ for trip aces. Zamani couldn't beat it and mucked, awarding Cheong the pot.

Meisser Busts McNicholas; Jaros Assists

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On a completed board of 9632Q, Marco Meisser had jammed all-in and Michael McNicholas was deep into the tank before he eventually called. Meisser tabled his 32 for the bottom two pair and McNicholas only held AJ for a bluff catcher to depart.

Patrik Jaros then jokingly mentioned that he helped because he previously check-raised big against McNicholas and "tilted him".

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With around 150,000 in the middle on a flop of 62J, Jose Garcia bet 40,000 from the cutoff and Atsushi Kato called in middle position.

The turn was the 3 and Garcia bet another 125,000. Kato again called to see the A river, and he then led out for 200,000. Garcia came back with an all-in shove, and Garcia sighed before calling for 140,000 more.

Garcia turned over AA for a rivered set, and Kato flung AJ into the muck as he made his exit.
