Jiang Gets a Rebate from Yepez

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Yanting Jiang
Yanting Jiang

Yanting Jiang opened to 800,000 from early position before Luis Yepez made the call on the button.

The A28 flop did not slow down Jiang as she continued for 1,000,000. Yepez was not yet done with the hand as he made the call to see a turn.

Jiang fired a second barrel of 1,800,000 on the 7 turn. Yepez gave it a consideration, but thought better of it as he chose to make the fold to award the pot to Jiang.

Yepez Flops Set to Double

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Luis Yepez

Chahn Jung got the action started with an open to 800,000 from under the gun. Yanting Jiang made the call from early position, and Vasileios Panagiotidis joined the fray with a call from middle position. Luis Yepez shoved for his final 3,950,000. Jung got out of the way with a fold, but Jiang made the call. Panagiotidis followed with a fold as Jiang and Yepez went to a showdown with Yepez at risk.

Luis Yepez: 99All in
Yanting Jiang: KQ

Yepez gained a significant lead when the flop came 4K9 to give him middle set.

The 7 turn sealed it in favor of Yepez as the meaningless 2 peeled on the river to award Yepez the double up.

Hawkins Steals from Jung

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Chahn Jung opened to 800,000 from middle position and Dylan Lew moved all in from the cutoff for his last 8,700,000. Jung mucked and Lew climbed back up to over ten million chips.

In the next hand, Jung opened from early position and action folded around to Maurice Hawkins who defended his big blind.

The 7A9 flop saw Hawkins check, Jung bet 650,000 and Hawkins snap call. The K turn was checked by both to the 6 river and Hawkins bet 2,000,000. Jung mucked his hand and the pot was pushed to Hawkins.

Jiang Back in the Win Column

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Yanting Jiang
Yanting Jiang

Yanting Jiang opened to 800,000 from early position. Punnat Punsri joined with a call from the button and Yoon Choi defended his big blind to create a three-handed pot.

All three players checked through the 576 flop to usher in the 2 turn.

Choi checked again, but Jiang was done checking as she bet 2,200,000. Punsri and Choi both folded as Jiang scored the pot.

Jung Heads Up the Table

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Chahn Jung
Chahn Jung

Chahn Jung opened to 800,000 from early position and Luis Yepez called from the big blind.

The A5Q flop saw Yepez check and Jung bet 600,000. Yepez mucked his hand and Jung stacked up more.

A few hands later, Punnat Punsri limped from the small blind and Chahn Jung checked from the big blind. The 33K flop saw Punsri check-call a 400,000 bet by Jung.

The 7 turn was checked to the 10 river and again to showdown with Punsri tabling his A7 for two pair which was enough to see Jung muck. Jung was then sitting on just shy of thirty million chips, which was now enough to be the chip leader as Yanting Jiang slipped down in the counts.

Lew Wins Another Showdown Against Jiang

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Dylan Lew
Dylan Lew

Yanting Jiang opened to 800,000 from middle position to start the hand. Dylan Lew decided to shove for 4,250,000 from the next seat over in the hijack. Jiang made the call to put Lew at risk as they went to a showdown.

Dylan Lew: AAAll in
Yanting Jiang: KJ

Lew had the best starting hand in the game and was poised for a double against the chip leader.

The flop gave both players something to root for as the dealer spread out Q4A to give Lew top set and Jiang a gutshot straight draw and a flush draw.

The 9 turn was of no consequence to Lew, who maintained his lead with the river still to come.

Lew secured the double when the K came down on fifth street to secure the double up, as Jiang had dropped down the chip counts as she continued to take losses at the final table.

Choi Scores Another Double

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Yoon Choi
Yoon Choi

Shortly after doubling his stack, Dylan Lew opened to 800,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Yoon Choi who moved all in for 3,350,000. Lew made the call and the pair headed to showdown.

Yoon Choi: QQAll in
Dylan Lew: KJ

Choi was ahead when the cards were tabled and the 1047 flop wasn't too dangerous for them.

A 8 turn saw Lew get closer to the straight, but the J river was safe, and he locked up the second double of the level. Lew was back down to just under ten big blinds, and evened out the short stacks at the table.

Flush for Lew

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Dylan Lew

Yanting Jiang began the bidding with a raise to 800,000 from the cutoff. Dylan Lew shoved on the button for 2,950,000 and was called by Jiang to be at risk.

Dylan Lew: J10All in
Yanting Jiang: 99

It was a classic flip, and Jiang held her lead on the Q66 flop, but it came with the price of Lew gaining a flush draw.

The 2 turn was a blank in favor of Jiang.

Lew would get there when the 7 peeled on the river to upgrade him to a flush and the winning hand as Lew secured the double up.

Choi Survives the Rollercoaster

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Yoon Choi
Yoon Choi

Chahn Jung opened to 800,000 from the cutoff and Yoon Choi moved all in for their remaining 1,575,000 on the button. Jung called and the players went heads up to showdown.

Yoon Choi: 88All in
Chahn Jung: K10

Choi stood to watch the runout and said "Good luck!" to Jung as the cards were tabled.

The KJ9 flop saw Jung take the lead and Choi slipped behind. The 9 turn wasn't any help for Choi but he binked the eight on the 8 river to keep his seat in the tournament.

This year's nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame have been announced, with the eight individuals now heading to the living members of the Hall for voting.

Each member can vote for up to four nominees, and anyone receiving votes from 22 or more members earns an automatic induction. This change, from a previous "winner-takes-all" format allowing for only one induction per year, was announced earlier this month.

Five of the eight nominees are first-time nominees, having met the minimum age requirement of 40. Eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Shaun Deeb headlines these players; he is joined by Jason Koon, Isaac Haxton, Chris Moorman, and Justin Bonomo.
